Ntsiki Mazwai protests against Helen Zille’s Johannesburg mayorship

by Zintle Mdaka

Different opinions were shared in light of former Democratic Alliance (DA) leader, Helen Zille’s recent interest in being the mayor of the city of Johannesburg.

Podcaster and poet, Nontsikelelo ‘Ntsiki’ Mazwai, was among those who shared their stance on the matter. Known to be bold and opinionated, Ntsiki did not hold back when she shared a video clip of her citing that Helen cannot be the mayor of Johannesburg.

Taking to her X (formerly Twitter), Ntsiki said Helen is a white supremacist who looks after Western imperialists’ interests.

“That would be a hundred million times worse than Cyril Ramaphosa. She is the actual ‘Thuma Mina’ of the Western imperialists. She is a white supremacist, and if you look at the Western Cape, you will see that black people are abused and live in bad conditions. She wants to bring that to Joburg,” the activist stated. We do not want Helen Zille. She comes from a traumatic past for black people. She is triggering. She can retire, she has done her part,” she said.

WE DON’T WANT HELEN ZILLE AS THE MAYOR OF jHB!!!!!!
That would be a huge and scary mistake which would impact the black masses negatively. pic.twitter.com/91jxo1W0uM

X users weighed in:

I see the paid-for disinformation machine is deployed at full force again. This tells me one thing – Helen Zille’s potential candidacy for JHB mayor is making the ANC very nervous!

Inkinga yethu, we take pride in declaring what we don’t want.

But we can rarely collectively agree on what we DO want.

That’s how they conquer us by giving us options.

We must regularly remind people that Helen Zille was responsible for the Rape of Bab’ Credo Mutwa’s wife, Helen Zille was responsible for the attempted murder of Bab’ Credo Mutwa and his family. Helen Zille instigated Rape against a black woman, that’s who @helenzille is

Let’s give her the benefit of the doubt and if messes up,she will be voted out like others
