Nota Baloyi taken to Equity Court for his ‘Neanderthals’ stance

Music executive, Nhlamulo ‘Nota’ Baloyi is expected to face the music at the Equity Court, after the controversial remarks he made about White people recently.

This follows after Nota’s episode on The Hustlers Corner SA, which was published on YouTube recently, where he made several statements expressing his views on white people, such as: “White people are inferior species to us.” “They have Neanderthal blood in them.” “We are dealing with the weakest whites.” “White people are just below human beings,” and so on.

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) revealed that they probed the matter after receiving several complaints, and found a Prima Facie case of Hate Speech.

“In its assessment of the matter, the Commission considered the legal framework, which is primarily based on the promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act, 2000, and existing jurisprudence on Hate Speech,” read the statement.

Should Nota be found guilty of Hate Speech by SAHRC, he will have to issue a public apology, attend diversity and sensitivity training, perform community service duties and a monetary fine among others.

The Commission advised that if anyone would like to see Nota fined in other ways, they can open a Crimen Injuria case with the police.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Nota denied that it was Hate Speech.

He said: “Watch the full episode of the podcast for context. There was no Hate Speech.”
