It is alleged that the chickens have come to roost for music executive, Nhlamulo Nota Baloyi, as he is said to have received a letter of demand and a hefty fine from the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC).

This follows after the SAHRC probed the controversial music executive, following his insensitive remarks about white people while he was a guest at DJ Sbu’s podcast which was later published on YouTube, namely The Hustlers Corner.

According to Sunday World, the Commission sent a correspondence which states that there is a prima facie violation of the rights to equality and human dignity, and the complaint falls within its purview.

“The Commission has become aware of the utterances you made during the Hustlers Corner SA podcast, which premiered on 17 February 2025. The Commission has also received complaints regarding utterances,” stated the Commission.

According to the publication, the letter of demand orders Nota to revoke all written statements, take part in human rights awareness training, and issue a public apology within 10 days of receiving the letter.

The letter further directs Nota to remove the offensive content and pay R150 000 to an organisation that promotes reconciliation. The letter also stated that if Nota did not reply to the letter within seven days, it would take the matter to the Equality Court.

This started when Nota was a guest in DJ Sbu’s podcast, where they spoke in depth about music, Kendrick Lamar’s half-time SuperBowl performance, Kanye West and politics. Nota took a turn when he spoke about his beliefs regarding the DNA profile of white people in South Africa and how that affects their interactions with Africans.

Some remarks he used to describe white people included “White people are inferior species to us.” “They have Neanderthal blood in them.” “We are dealing with the weakest whites.” “White people are just below human beings,” and so on.
