Nonku Williams defends her love on Valentine’s Day: ‘Get behind me, Satan!’

by Zaghrah Anthony

Nonku Williams celebrates love while shutting down critics

Valentine’s Day in South Africa is usually a celebration of romance and affection, but for Nonku Williams, the day was also a moment to take a stand. The former Real Housewives of Durban star shared a heartfelt tribute to her partner, businessman and cattle farmer Lungani Rammaledi, while firmly addressing online negativity about their relationship.

In a post featuring elegant photos and a short video of the couple dressed in black formal wear, Williams shared voice notes capturing the intimacy of their connection. “My love, on this Valentine’s Day, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the love we have built. You are my safe haven, my partner in every sense. Your love is my shelter, my inspiration, and my joy. Here’s to us, to our laughter, adventures, and quiet moments. I love you more with each passing day,” she wrote.

Rammaledi mirrored her sentiments, adding: “Nonku Williams, on this Valentine’s Day, I just want to make a promise to you that I love you and I will always love you. Every day, every hour, minute, and second, I think about you. I can’t wait to wake up next to you and share every moment. Nothing will come between us. You are my wife, and I want to settle down with you. I love you.”

Social media chatter and the haters

While many fans celebrated the romance, not everyone was supportive. One Instagram follower, @gumedethabsile5, left a dismissive comment: “Until the next man.”

Williams didn’t hesitate to respond, writing, “Sathane phuma kimi”—or “Get behind me, Satan.” The firm response quickly went viral, with fans applauding her confidence and public defense of her relationship.

Background: a love story under scrutiny

Nonku and Rammaledi introduced their relationship in late 2025, sharing sweet moments online, including a cooking video in November that gave fans a glimpse of their life together. However, their romance has not been without controversy. Earlier this month, local blogs suggested that Rammaledi had previously dated Sne, sister of Slee Ndlovu, a former RHOD cast member and ex-friend of Williams.

In response, Rammaledi clarified his relationship status on Instagram: “Lungani Rammaledi is not married, and he was never married to his ex-girlfriend (Sne). Nonku Williams is not the reason for Lungani Rammaledi to separate from his ex-girlfriend, and the ex-girlfriend knows it.”

A Valentine’s Day to remember

In a world where social media can amplify both love and criticism, Nonku Williams’ Valentine’s Day post was more than a romantic gesture—it was a declaration of self-respect and devotion. Her heartfelt tribute, paired with her unflinching stance against online negativity, shows that while love can be public, boundaries and respect are non-negotiable.

For fans, the couple’s story is a reminder that even in the spotlight, love can flourish when it’s nurtured with honesty, loyalty, and a little courage to shut out the noise.
