Mzansi’s former “It Girl” Nonhle Thema became the fourth media personality to a sit down with Thembekile Mrototo on his Showmax show Unfollowed where she owned up to her mistakes that got her to lose a lot of jobs and millions of rands.

The daughter of actress and former Miss Black South Africa Cynthia Shange opened the platform for many South African presenters and media personalities. After bagging an international reality show called Nonhle goes to Hollywood and being named the face of Dark n Lovely, Nonhle admitted that her head grew big and that she did not see anyone bigger than her.

On Unfollowed, Nonhle opened up about a time when she trended for dishing mean and negative remarks to social media users who commented negatively about her. She shared, “I was in a battle of myself, my ego, my pride,” continuing to explain what led to her losing all the important deals she had, Nonhle shared, “I lost sense of who God was in my life.”

“I was so full of myself, I was so self-absorbed at that time I was actually a horrible person. I became a monster right infront of myself.”

The media personality also added:

“I wasn’t myself at that time …  batting with a turmoil. I was obsessed with reading these things people were saying about me. I couldn’t stop googling my name, I couldn’t stop obsessing over what was anyone saying. I would search my name a million times a day.”

Sharing a trailer of Thembisile and Nonhle’s Unfollowed sit in, Showmax captioned their post:

“From South Africa’s sweetheart to cancelled. Nonhle Thema lets us in on the events that led her to where she is today. New episode of #Unfollowed, now streaming.”

“I absolutely loved this one…. The fact that she takes accountability of her actions and has learned lessons from the past…. Who are we to hold on to the past and judge her?? God is a God of many chances, and we see that in you little sis???? keep it up!!!”
