TV presenter and media personality Nomuzi Mabeni has confirmed that she is safe and sound. This comes after a heavy storm reached the tropical Island of Mauritius this past week.

In recent days the rapper who also goes by the name Moozlie was seen showing off several pictures on her Instagram page while she got some much-deserved time off with some of her close friends before her work year officially begins.

While the Island is quite popular for its tranquility, the 31-year-old would never have expected that her holiday would be interrupted by the natural disaster.

On Tuesday, Mauritius issued a maximum cyclone warning alert due to the impact of tropical storm Belal, which brought strong winds and heavy rain to the island nation in the Indian Ocean.

Local news broadcaster eNCA reported that the government has instructed all residents to stay indoors to remain safe, while the meteorological service announced that the storm is now moving away from the island and heading eastwards.

Currently it claimed the life of one person, while many parts of the Island are left flooded and without electricity.

Speaking to local entertainment publication The Citizen, she said that her and her friends were all safe and unharmed.

“I am well and safe at the hotel. I came to Mauritius for holiday with friends and taking time out enjoying a break from work.”
