New cast members of ‘Shaka iLembe’ season 2 revealed

In a few months, the historical series that kept Mzansi glued on their screens with the riveting storyline, Shaka iLembe will make its comeback for the second season on Mzansi Magic.

The highly anticipated drama series will now introduce new characters that will be portrayed by talented thespians such as Zamani Mbatha, Melusi Mbele, Andile Mxakaza, Wonder Ndlovu, Thandolwethu Zondi and Lindo Mbonani.

With a gripping first season on the story that retells the story of King Shaka Zulu. In season one, Mzansi followed King Shaka’s upbringing to manhood, and was taken back to when Princess Nandi captured the heart of King Senzangakhona, and their romance was cut short by a clash with King Zwide.

Season two, which will premiere on the 15th of June,  promises to deliver groundbreaking storylines that will captivate audiences as the kingdom drama continues.

The new cast members will join the formidable cast that includes Thembinkosi Mthembu, Dawn Thandeka King, Wiseman Mncube and Lemogang Tsipa among others in narrating the historical story of King Shaka as he rules as a King in KwaNobamba.

Actors Spaces took to their Instagram page to reveal the new faces that will join Shaka iLembe.

CEO of General Entertainment at MultiChoice, Nomsa Philiso said: “Season 2 is a journey into the very soul of Shaka’s world.”

Partner and Executive Producer for Shaka iLembe, Desiree Markgraaff said: “The new cast members are an explosion of talent. They bring fresh energy, exploring the complexities of power, love, and loyalty in the turbulent era. And there are many new stories we explore, taking us to the majestic mountains of the Swati kingdom through to the rolling hills of the Xhosa. South Africa is rich with characters, and we’re just beginning to uncover them. Stay tuned,” said Desiree.
