Shortly after wrapping up with their hit reality TV show Young, African and Famous, Netflix is bringing even more excitement to the continent with a round table talk spin-off featuring an interesting panel that has had viewers eager to see the final product.

Popular streaming site Netflix has called upon actress and presenter Dineo Langa, renowned sports broadcaster Motshidisi Mohono, hip-hop connoisseur Kwesta, celebrity stylist Phupho Gumede and fashion savant Yolanda Mqoco to form part of a reputable panel to pick apart Mzansi’s notable personalities that have made the industry what it is today.

They go into extreme detail, with examples, about what it means to be Young, Famous and African today, especially considering how the industry has evolved and become a space where anyone can thrive and fall, in the blink of an eye.

A clip shared on YouTube has had viewers glued to their screens as they listen to this carefully and well-selected panel to give their opinion on the people who have dedicated their lives to their crafts. These users have continued to gush over how much research the panel has done, as well as their overall knowledge of the inner and outer workings of the industry.

Netflix has come up with a compelling concept with the potential to do and be major in mzansi and across the continent. This could possibly resonate better than the original Young, Famous and African show as viewers had started talking about how the company has missed the mark with the show. They have revealed that they would love to see more of the reality stars’ lives and real friends, as opposed to the current set-up where they merely meet up for the sake of the show, taking away the element of authenticity that people look for in reality shows.

This should be Young, Famous and South African ??‍♀️ just saying

Other users, on the other hand, have called Netflix out for their continuous use of the word ‘young’ while simultaneously intentionally leaving actual young people out of the show. These users believe that the panel that has been chosen is not an accurate representation of the youth in the industry, and Netflix continues to miss the mark.
