South African rapper Nasty C revealed that award-winning pop star Tyla allegedly charged him $300 000, roughly R4.8 million at the time of publication, for a feature. With such a hefty price tag and Tyla’s global appeal, some people felt what she had allegedly asked for was reasonable.

Nasty C’s alleged opinion on Tyla’s feature fee

In a video that has gone viral online, Nasty C shared how stunned he was upon hearing the figure. Unconfirmed rumours online stated that after the Grammy Award winner noted her fee, the Strings and Bling hitmaker allegedly replied with a laughing emoji and blocked the star.

There are also claims that the rapper accused Tyla of being rude and said she wasn’t on the level of Hollywood music superstars such as Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and Beyoncé. Nasty C has not confirmed the above claims nor claims that he thought the collaboration would be free of charge.

Tyla fans defend her feature fee

Several Tygers (Tyla’s fan base) and social media users gathered on social media platforms to join the conversation surrounding the collaboration that might never happen. Many were also under the impression that the claims were facts.

@Ayodejiralph24 shared their opinion, writing, “Well… he should respect her price.”

“Lol, I thought collaborations were buddy-buddy kinds of things. You pay?” asked @Bizlifestyle4.

@Aibinu_omo added, “Honestly, this sounds like one of those situations that just got blown out of proportion. Tyla set her terms, Nasty C didn’t vibe with it, and that’s okay. Not every collaboration has to work out. They’re both talented, so it’s better to just focus on the music and keep it moving.”
