Nadia Nakai returns to work with the support of the Forbes family

by Ncumisa Lerato Kunana

This past weekend was a big one for rapper, Nadia Nakai. The Naaa Mean hitmaker went back to work for the first time since the passing of her boyfriend, Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes.

She had three gigs this weekend in popular night clubs in Joburg and many came out to support her, including AKA’s father, Tony Forbes.

Nadia thanked her followers for their support, writing, “You’re never prepared unless you try. Thank you so much for your love and support. We’ll see you this weekend!”

Lynn Forbes took to the comments section, saying AKA is with her in spirit “Kiernan will be there in spirit with you every step of the way. Put your chin up. Really nice… You’ve got this, and we’ve got you covered.”

Tony Forbes attended her performance, and Nadia documented the entire evening on her Instagram stories.

Some of her celebrity friends came to supoort her, including AKA’s friends. Nomuzi ‘Moozlie’ Mabena , Don Design, Siya Mdluli were all in the Instagram snaps with her.

Nadia performed her own songs and the song Dangerous where she featured in it alongside Blxckie in AKA’s posthumous album, Mass Country.

If her Instagram stories are anything to go by, she had the support of her fans and of the Megacy. She looked happy to be doing what she loves for the people that had been in her corner supporting her ever since she lost her partner in a tragic manner.
