Mzansi reacts to The Ultimatum SA show

Netflix series The Ultimatum: Marry Me or Move On has hit South African shores and internet users already have their one villain story.

The streaming platform announced that South Africa would be having their version of the most-loved American series, giving couples a request to get married or move on. This season’s host was Tshepo Howza Mosese and Salamina Mosese who have been married for 15 years followed by six couples who gave their partners ultimatums.

The first season consisted of nine episodes where the couples had to switch partners and go on a ‘trial marriage’ before getting back with their original partners. This experiment was to see if they wanted to get married.

Here are the cast members for the first season:

1. Khanya & Nkateko

The couple have been together for over a year and Khanya issued the ultimatum. However, Khanya’s attitude throughout the season was unfortunately not on the good side from body shaming a cast member to hitting her partner and treating others with no respect, her outcome was not what she expected as Nkateko decided to give her a promise ring as he felt that they needed to work on their issues before getting married.

2. Genesis and Thabi

This couple was lovely to watch and it was a given that they would get married as they love one another. During the couple switch, Genesis found it hard to see his partner being appreciated in a way he never did.

3. Isaac & Ruth

Although being together for a while Ruth made a confession that shocked many users as she claimed that she was not allowed to call Isaac or she didn’t know where he stayed. This couple unfortunately went their separate ways due to Ruth and Nolla getting too cosy during the couple switch.

4. Lindile & Sizakele

This is a very short time to issue an ultimatum and Lindile seems to be more attracted to Thabi during the trial marriage and nevertheless, they are together.

4. Aiden & Courtney

This couple was sure to stay away from drama and got the most out of this experiment as Aiden tried to be there for everyone who needed emotional support.

5. Nolla & Lebo

This couple unfortunately did not make it to the end of the experiment due to Nolla’s cheating scandal causing Lebo not to trust him anymore although it is uncertain if the couple is still together we hope to see them at the reunion.
