Musa Mseleku surprises fans with acting debut on My Brother’s Keeper

Musa Mseleku

Musa Mseleku best known for his role as a prominent polygamist and his reality show Uthando Nes’thembu, has made a notable transition into the world of scripted drama with his guest appearance on My Brother’s Keeper on Mzansi Magic.

In a recent interview with the Daily Sun, Musa expressed his enthusiasm for acting, provided that productions respect the name he has built over the years. “I’ve told all productions that if they honour the Mseleku name, I’ll consider participating. But if they want to give me a different name, it becomes very difficult. In this particular production, they respected my name, which is why I agreed to do it,” Musa explained.

On My Brother’s Keeper, Musa’s character is called upon to mediate a complex situation involving Donga, his wife Khathazile, and Nkosazana.

Khathazile has reached out to Musa for help, and is struggling with her husband’s affair and the proposal to make Nkosazana his second wife. Musa’s role in the show is a natural extension of his real-life experience on Mnakwethu, where he deals with similar issues.

When the publication asked about his acting skills, Musa explained that his role comes naturally to him due to its close connection to his reality TV experience. “I think it comes naturally because the appearance was connected to my reality show, Mnakwethu, which I do every day. The only difference is that the lines were written down, but I told them I’d give them more than what they asked for.”
