The broadcasting giant, MultiChoice, has disassociated itself from podcaster, Mcgyver Mukwevho, popularly known as MacG, following his vulgar remarks about media personality, Minnie Dlamini.
He uttered the widely condemned remarks in his podcast, namely, Podcast and Chill, published on YouTube, when they were discussing Minnie’s breakup with Dr Brian Monaisa, alongside his co-hosts Sol Phenduka and the Ghost Lady.
“Thereโs got to be something wrong with her; maybe her coochie smells or something. You know this happens, man, it happens, especially with the hot girls,” said MacG on his podcast.
This statement led to a public outcry with Women for Change and Moja Love condemning it, and classifying it as vulgar and sexist.
Recently, MultiChoice issued a statement citing that the controversial episode did not air on Channel 0 and Mzansi Magic.
“All content broadcast on our channels undergoes a rigorous internal review process to ensure compliance with South African broadcasting standards,” read the statement.
The broadcaster’s clarification comes after the recently formed partnership with MacG, which will see his podcast broadcasted among others featured on its broadcasting platforms from April 2025.
X (formerly Twitter) users took a stance and weighed in on the matter after MDN news shared the news on their X page, with many questioning why MultiChoice does not cancel their partnership with MacG.
He never needed multichoice – I was puzzled why he got into this partnership in the first place.
