After alleged contract and salary disputes which resulted in immense uproar from fans, Orlando Pirates are reportedly in advanced discussions to loan talented winger, Monnapule Saleng, to the newly promoted Orbit College.

The tale of Saleng’s career of late has been nothing short of disappointing. The 27-year-old winger quickly went from being one of the more promising players, to being stuck on the sidelines for reasons unknown to the public. Despite pulling off some impressive performances, his 2024/25 season was limited to only five games, where he finished with a total of five goals and one assist.

In recent months, Saleng’s noticeable absence from the Orlando Pirates line-up sparked some chatter among fans, leaving them to speculate about what could be happening behind the scenes. The rumour regarding contractual and salary disputes quickly emerged, and resulted in fans condemning Orlando Pirates as they believe the club wanted to hold onto the player despite him being unhappy there.

With all eyes being on the Buccaneers and how they will choose to handle this complicated matter, reports by SABCΒ  have emerged revealing that the club is in serious talks to have Saleng loaned out to Orbit College.

Fans have expressed support for this move, as they believe that finding a new home in another team will do the winger some good. This is also as many feel that Orlando Pirates have stalled and ultimately ruined his career. These fans have urged Orlando Pirates to finally set Saleng free, and allow another team to utilise his impressive skills.

I’m hurt Orlando Pirates are being emotional in managing the Saleng situation. If he has committed misconduct he was supposed to be disciplined and be kept in the team as we all know he is a very important player of he team. Loaning such an important player is very wrong
