With many scammers on the socials, celebrated personalities seem to be victims of stolen accounts that are later used to scam unsuspecting social media users.
Online users tend to fall for this trap because a social media account with the name of a celebrated personality is often used by scammers, which leaves online users thinking the scammer is their favourite celebrated personality interacting with them
Recently, Lindokuhle Mgedezi popular as Mlindo the Vocalist found himself warning unsuspecting Facebook users, after his Facebook account which he said was hacked three years ago, recently became active and scammed users.
The Amablesser hitmaker recently took to his Instagram page to issue a statement where he pleaded with his supporters and fans to not give away their information or interact with the account with the username ‘Mlindo the Vocalist’ on Facebook, as the account is fraudulent.
He captioned his post: ” My Facebook account was hacked three years ago, still not recovered until today, please help me report the account,” he said.
In the statement issued he said, “It has come to our attention that an unauthorised and fake Facebook account has been created under the name ‘Mlindo the Vocalist.’ This account is not managed or endorsed by Mlindo or his management team. We are taking immediate steps to report and have this account removed,” read the statement.
