Mlindo the Vocalist returns to the music scene

Lindokuhle Mgedezi, famously known as Mlindo the Vocalist, returns to the music scene with his latest single titled ‘Isandla Ska Baba.’

Mlindo the Vocalist was first introduced to us in 2018 when he released Amablesser, which featured record producer and DJ Maphorisa.

Things took a turn for the singer and songwriter when DJ Maphorisa alleged that he was double-crossed by Mlindo and his road manager, Nyiko Bilankulu.

As per reports by TshiaLive, back in 2021, DJ Maphorisa made a lengthy post on Facebook detailing what occurred between him and Mlindo. He stated that upon Mlindo’s arrival in the big city, he had no one to help him, adding that he went out of his way to get him a road manager only to be double-crossed at the end.

He further explained that he never received his cut of the proposed percentage as per their contractual agreement with the singer’s manager.

Although Mlindo took a hiatus from the music industry, ZiMoja reports that they have both made amends and he will continue to make music.

Speaking to ZiMoja about his recent single, Mlindo stated that he hoped his new song uplifted people, adding that, as someone who advocates against GBV, given his experience of witnessing his neighbours fight from a young age, he hopes to bring awareness to this cause.

“There might be some kid out there going through the same situation today. I’m trying to reach out to them to let them know that they are not alone and that they have a voice to speak out to try to prevent the cycle of abuse. This cycle sometimes begins at home; hence, we need to stand together to fight and prevent GBV at all costs,” he told ZiMoja.

The single ‘Isandla Ska Baba‘ will be dropping on April 5, 2024.
