Rumours of a steamy love affair between Umkhonto Wesizwe party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela and MK parliamentary candidate Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla surfaced, prompting a response from the spokesperson on the matter.
The relationship rumours were confirmed by two MK members who anonymously spoke with local publication TshisaLIVE.
To confirm the rumours the publication contacted Nhlamulo who refuted dating speculations, “I’m not dating Duduzile Zuma and we are just close to each other and my relationship with her goes back to our days in Mozambique,” he said.
Speaking of those spreading these rumours he said, “They are trying to drive a certain narrative that we are dating. She attends every event with her boyfriend, haven’t you seen Dudu’s boyfriend?”
“It’s clear people want to know. We know each other from as far back as the 1980s with the Zuma family. So, she’s a sister to me including other sisters and brothers. We are close due to the work we do in this organisation. That’s all I can tell you.”
Duduzile married Eastern Cape-born businessman Lonwabo Sambudla in a lavish wedding full of prestige guests in 2011. Six years after their marriage, the couple who are parents to two daughters announced they were divorcing.
While visiting DJ Warras and DJ PH’s podcast, The Shady PHodcast recently, Duduzile who has since separated from her husband shared that she was still legally married adding, “Married but complicated.”
When asked if she was dating, the twin to Duduzane Zuma burst out in laughter, commenting:
“Jesus Christ guys, I don’t want even know how to respond to that because, if I’m dating someone, if I’m not, I just want to keep that totally off.”
She further said, “Number one, you’ve got to protect the person you’re with. It’s just something that I wouldn’t want to discuss.”
Duduzile further added that if people see her cosy with the person she’s with that’s all good, but what she wasn’t going to do is to confirm, or deny anything.
Using DJ PH as an example she said, “If you see me walking around holding PH’s hand, it is what it is. You know you’ve seen us but I’m not going to sit here and say, yes I’m dating and this is the person.”
