Media personality Pearl Thusi had some internet users talking – both good and bad – after she added deejaying to her list of talents.

Mamma Pantha, as her friend DJ Zinhle has called her, took to her Instagram to share her gratitude for her new venture which took place at The Makhelwane Festival in Soweto.

“GOD’S TIMING IS PERFECT! DELAY IS NOT DENIAL. TRUST THE PROCESS. I was playing Imithandazo to end my set, I had to thank God for carrying me through that hour,” she wrote.

Sharing that she waited almost a decade to make her dream come true, Pearl added, “Whether this makes sense to you or not, worry about yourself and make your dreams come true. I pray this convinces you to never give up on what you want to achieve.”

While another shared the following:

However, Pearl received some criticism too. One X (formerly Twitter) user said, “Don’t have a problem with her being a DJ, but another amapiano DJ? Someone bring that SA creatives tweet back.”

While another alluded to Pearl’s parenting: “Yoh, can she just hang it? You have a child. Be a mother.”
