Mixed reactions as Cassper performs at ANC event

After Cassper Nyovest was spotted performing at one of the ANC’s rallies, many took to the internet to express their opinions about the award-winning rapper’s involvement.

Over the years, the ANC has become quite a controversial political party, given the scandals of corruption that often attached itself to the ANC’s name.

So, it came as quite a surprise for a few social media users when a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) saw Cassper entertaining a crowd at the ANC Northern Cape Provincial Mayihlome Rally over the weekend.

One of the songs Cassper performed was Tito Mboweni, which is also the name of the country’s former Minister of Finance.

At the end of his performance, the rapper is heard saying to the crowd, “The power is yours. Make the right vote, the right choice.”

“Amandla, I go by the Name of Cassper Nyovest, The Power is yours Make the right Vote the right choice, I love you” @casspernyovest

Many thought Cassper did not need to perform at the rally, with some saying he only partook in the political event for the money.

Singing for his supper ?

He’s just there for the money, he shows that the love for that part is not there

MyGoat is doing this for the cheque nothing else

While others shared that they felt Cassper was not giving his usual energy while performing.

You can tell that my GOAT isn’t comfortable. I mean, the energy is not the one that we know. ANC ya baeza and ya fosta. https://t.co/vMkYdDOB8z

That is definitely not a performance. Cassper is an amazing performer, I wonder why he chose to just walk around like a tourist in Robin Island. https://t.co/0MUJGvURY0

I don’t think he likes this song, or he was forced to perform it
