Alleged misuse of company resources causes DJ Tira and employee to part ways

by Sergio Miller

Following a nine-year long relationship, musician DJ Tira and his company Afrotainment has decided to part ways with its former manager Senzo Shezi.

In a public statement, Tira (whose real name is Mthokozisi Khathi) confirmed the news via his Instagram page and shared that the decision was made after an internal investigation proved that Senzo engaged in behaviour that was inconsistent with their brand and misused company resources.

A source told news and entertainment publication Sunday World that Senzo allegedly overcharged clients for bookings and broke the company policy by getting in romantic relationships with fellow artists.

“At Afrotainment, we prioritise transparency, integrity, and respect in all our business practices. The behaviour exhibited by this employee is not reflective of the values that we uphold. As a result, the decision has been made to part ways with him,” said Afrotainment.

Meanwhile, the statement stressed that the departure of Senzo will not in any way affect nor disrupt the quality of the service that the label produces. Instead, they are committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.

“We will take all necessary steps to rectify any issues that may have risen as a result of Mr Senzo Shezi’s actions.

“We appreciate the support and understanding of our clients and the public during this difficult time. We are confident that this decision is in the best interest of our company and its stakeholders,” the statement concluded.

Meanwhile, upon news publication The Citizen’s enquiry, Senzo said that he knew nothing about being fired. He mentioned that he was in a rural location with no signal but will check.
