The country’s most prestigious pageantry organisation, Miss South Africa, has reached the end of an era after announcing that it would be parting ways with CEO Stephanie Weil.
The organisation announced the news in an official statement via its social media platforms.
“The organisers of Miss South Africa wish Stephanie Weil everything of the best with her new endeavours, as an agreement has been reached that Ms Weil will be leaving the organisation after many years as CEO of Miss South Africa,” the statement read.
To ensure that the transition remains as seamless as possible, the Miss SA organisers also revealed that she will continue serving the organisation until they have a suitable replacement in the vacant leadership role, and to ensure that the best interest of the Miss South Africa organisation is served.
Despite the adjustment in the role, they have expressed a commitment to delivering on the success of previous years, with the annual Miss SA pageant evening being a month away.

“The organisers of the Miss SA contest are making good progress with the preparations for the Miss SA contest, which will be a huge success. Miss SA is grateful to Stephanie for the work she did whilst she was CEO of the organisation,” they concluded.
Meanwhile, multiple former pageant winners, including the newly engaged and current Miss SA Mia Le Roux, have since wished Stephanie well on her prospects.
Taking to Instagram, Mia wrote: “Love you so much, Stephanie. You’ve left behind an extraordinary legacy.
“Through you, I’ve witnessed how Miss SA — and, by extension, womanhood — has evolved for the better. You’ve shattered barriers and paved paths that never existed before. What you have done will be set in stone forever. I am so proud, honoured, and grateful that I got to experience your magic. Always and forever.”
The announcement of her departure comes just months after Werner Wessels stepped down from his role as Creative Director and joined Miss Supranational.
