As excitement builds around the Miss SA 2025 competition, finalist Bridgett Jones finds herself navigating turbulent waters after bullying allegations surfaced online. The claims, made by content creator and former colleague Kayla Jenecker, accused Jones of creating a toxic work environment during their time at the same company.
Jones took to Instagram on Wednesday, September 17, to present her side of the story, firmly denying the allegations.
“I am aware of a video circulating on social media in which I have been accused of bullying. These allegations are completely untrue. The matter referenced relates to my former employer and colleagues in a legal case in which I had no involvement. By the time those proceedings took place, I had already left the company,” she wrote.

Standing Firm Amid Online Scrutiny
Jones, 28, described the situation as deeply distressing, emphasizing the impact on her reputation and personal life. She requested privacy while addressing the matter through appropriate channels.
“I remain committed to conducting myself with integrity and respect, both personally and professionally. I kindly ask for privacy as I address this matter,” she said.
Former Employer Supports Jones
Adding context, Jones highlighted that her former employer had previously addressed the claims in a TikTok video, which has since been deleted. In a follow-up message, he urged social media users to avoid spreading misinformation.
“Good morning, so I woke up this morning with a lot of notifications from TikTok saying that some of the comments that were made on my last post were very inappropriate and against the community guidelines. I made that post to dispel misinformation and lies that were defaming someone’s character,” he explained.
@trevsworld SPREAD LOVE AND KINDNESS NOT HATE. No matter who you believe or support, I would ask you to refrain for online bullying wither one. Instead show love and support. We as humanity and as proud South Africans need to do better. We need to support, help and love each other. Let’s be the positive change we all want to see. #thankyou #bully #misssouthafrica #love #support ♬ original sound – The General 💚SNPR💚 🇿🇦
He also encouraged the public to support both women rather than engage in cancel culture, saying:
“Stop the abuse, give them both love and support. We will not allow baseless lies to ruin reputations.”
Social Media Reaction
Fans of Jones quickly rallied behind her, flooding her comment section with messages of encouragement and positivity.
-
@vaylenarends: “And for this, go get that crown.”
-
@yasmeen.w.h: “Rooting for you all the way, babes!”
-
@bakercut: “People can be very petty. Go and get the crown and tell your story.”
The online support reflects a broader debate in South Africa about how allegations should be addressed, especially in high-profile industries like beauty pageants, where contestants are seen as role models.
As the Miss SA 2025 competition continues, Bridgett Jones’ response to these allegations will likely shape public perception and serve as a reminder of the impact of social media accusations on personal and professional reputations.
