Since being crowned as the new Miss SA earlier this year, Oudtshoorn-born Mia Le Roux has been hard at work as mzansi’s biggest ambassador.

As the time for the Miss Universe finale fast approaches, Mia is set to leave for Mexico and begin preparations for the highly anticipated finale, as it is sure to be a must-see-TV.

The responsibility of being a country’s official ambassador is no easy feat, however, Mia Le Roux has done so with grace. It has been exciting for supporters to get to know Mia a bit better as she acclimatises to her new role and responsibilities. Although a bit reserved, she exudes confidence and humility at all times, as a great Miss SA should. Those who follow her social media have gotten a front-row seat to all of Mia’s escapades since being crowned.

In approximately a month, the prestigious Miss Universe finale is set to take place in Arena CDMX, Mexico and Mia is set to depart for Mexico in the next week. Nicaraguan model Sheynnis Palacios will be handing over her crown to whoever will be crowned the new Miss Universe.

In preparation for the trip, she has a few people she needs to say goodbye to, and some business to wrap up. She shared a special moment with her parents over a bottle of Bonang’s House of BNG.

Although Mia is well deserving of being crowned as Miss SA, we can’t help but worry about how she will be received on the Miss Universe stage. As the first contestant with a physical disability, the challenges she will face are unlike her fellow contestants and some South Africans worry for her.

However, excitement is uncontainable, as South Africa is popular for doing well at Miss Universe pageants, which is credited to the coaches who dedicate their lives to empowering our women.
