The countdown has officially begun for the annual Metro FM Music Awards 2023.
A Metro FM media event hosted by DJ and Metro FM broadcaster, Lerato Kganyago announced the much anticipated date for the awards ceremony.
The media launch was held in Johannesburg on the 18th of January 2023, Metro FM being one of the biggest commercial radio station in South Africa hosts the much anticipated award ceremony every year for local artists in the music industry.
This glamorous red carpet event is said to take place on the 29th of April 2023, and will broadcast live on SABC 1, selected SABC radio stations, stream live on SABC plus and METRO FM’s Youtube channel.
Ms. Nada Wontshela, the group executive for SABC shared “we are excited to bring back one of the SABC’s biggest event that is loved by the millions of our audiences. This event has grown to be embraced by the industry and surely has made an indelible mark, hence the demand for it remained high even at the time of its short break. This property presents a great opportunity to amplify the SA.”
According to the leading broadcaster, Metro FM Music Awards 2023 comprises of 20 categories and stringent requirement for albums, singles and recordings eligible released between 28 February 2022 to 28 February 2023. Nominations are now open for different categories from the 19th January 2023 and will close on the 28th February 2023, and submissions to be made on www.metrofmmusicawards.co.za.
