Fans were delighted as she also shared Papa Joy’s reactions, capturing his enjoyment of the authentic flavours.

The couple, clearly smitten with each other, have been exploring the scenic beauty of France, with Mama Joy’s followers eagerly tagging along on their journey.


Amidst their adventures, Mama Joy sparked engagement rumours after posting a picture that featured her wearing a ring, adding to the excitement of her fans.


Mama Joy first introduced her new love during the 2023 Rugby World Cup, which she attended in her official capacity as a superfan. Her current trip coincided with the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, where she continued to support South African athletes.

It’s worth noting that Papa Joy, whose full name remains a mystery, paid for Mama Joy’s business-class ticket to the city of love.


This clarification comes after Minister of Sports, Arts, and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, announced that the government would no longer fund superfans’ travels.


The minister emphasised that resources should prioritise artists and athletes. In response, Mama Joy has been offered connections to potential sponsors, ensuring her continued presence at international events.

Despite the romance, Mama Joy remained dedicated to her role, cheering on Olympic athletes at various events.
