Mac G’s Multichoice deal ends after short run

by Nomonde Simelane

After bagging a notable deal with Multichoice, controversial media personality Macgyver Mukwevho’s careless utterings have led to the end of his short career in the television space after the TV giants severed ties with him.

Macgyver Mukwevho, famously known as Mac G, has quickly become the face of controversy in South Africa. He and his associates at Podcast and Chill have garnered a reputation for unashamedly sharing their unsolicited opinions, which are often controversial and get the masses talking.

His latest scandal came when he and Sol took to their podcast to discuss Minnie Dlamini’s love life, and somehow, the conversation led to Mac G expressing how Minnie’s inability to keep a man has something to do with some body odour emitting from her private parts. These utterances garnered immense backlash from the public, as users highlighted how the platform has made a habit of degrading women for clicks and views.

After the matter continued to gain momentum, Mac G humbled himself and issued a public apology to Minnie, as well as all the women who were offended by his words during an episode of Podcast and Chill. Interestingly, after remaining silent on the matter, Minnie Dlamini responded to Mac G’s apology by revealing that she would not be letting anything slide and would be pursuing legal recourse to explore her options.

It appears that this time, Mac G messed with the wrong woman as this saga has snowballed into some concerning consequences for Mac G. Recently, Sunday Times reported that DSTV made the decision to axe Mac G’s podcast and Chill from their platform, as previously agreed, due to the unsavoury comments directed towards Minnie Dlamini.

Honestly MacG knows how to move.

He knows what to do to gain more subscribers.

And he did it, DSTV needs to realise that MacG used them for their larger audience it was just all a business move… pic.twitter.com/m7aliN0SwZ
