Actress and radio host Lusanda Mbane is one South African media personality who is passionate about motivating and helping others understand that life has its ups and downs and that giving up should never be an option.

The actress who also owns a clothing line called Zazi Zithande Zithembe recently shared an inspiring video on her formula for beating life’s odds.

Sharing an old video requested by actress Nolwazi Shange on her social media platform about a working formula that she was taught early in her working career about beating life’s odds, the former Scandal actress captioned her post:

“Here it is, as requested by @nolwazishange?. Thank you for the reminder, Lwazi. This year has mostly been harvest season for me, so there’s been more dancing than speaking ?. Your reminder has nudged me to speak more again, but also it has reminded me to share about another seed I planted 3 years ago. Watering it since then has been painful, at times I wasn’t sure anything would ever bloom there, but this week I saw the fruits ?????. I will share about it this week and I continue to plant seeds every week. As you’re about to start your week, I hope it works for you too. Thank you, Lwazi ??.”

The actress started her video by acknowledging that life has no one formula adding that a person needs to find a formula that works for them and make sure they use it to navigate through life odds. She went on to share a formula that she was taught while working at a call centre, in a sales environment.

She shared:

“I was taught that I needed to make 10 calls in order to get three hot prospects, in order to make a sale. I knew if I wanted to make a sale I had to make 10 calls, so that I could get three hot prospective buyers and one of them will amount to a sale. Even though I moved out of the sales space since then, I continued to use the formula religiously in my whole life. I started understanding that the whole life’s thing is a numbers game. You must keep pumping the numbers in order to overcome the odds. We’re living in a time where the odds are stacked against us. If the odds are 50 is to one, then you have to make 51 calls to your breakthrough, you can’t make two calls and complain that things are not working”

The actress also added:

“On a Monday I generally have a something that is called planting the seeds. I plant seeds every week even if I am doing well, busy and have things going for me… because you don’t plant the seeds when its time for you to eat, you plant the seeds way before the time that you need to eat. On a Monday I gather contacts online, from friends, of the people that are decision makers in the industries that I am interested in and I will send them emails and make them aware that I exist. I plant the seeds so that people know that I am there.”

She finished off saying:

“Everyday try and plant seeds. Life is a number’s game. Pump up the numbers so that you can outnumber the odds.”
