Exciting news for Muvhango fans as the show announces the addition of actor, producer, and musician Lungelo Tyson Mathonsi to its cast.

Taking to Instagram Muvhango excitedly declared: ” NEW CHARACTER ALERT, Introducing the prodigal son Sakhile Ramabulana, the son of Dr. Nonhlanhla Ximba and husband, Avhatakali Ramabulana. Will be played by the talented Lungelo Tyson Mathonsi from Richard’s Bay, Eskhawini in KwaZulu Natal.Welcome to the family.”

In an exclusive interview with Glamour, Lungelo shared that acting found him rather than the other way around, as circumstances led him to a theatre, and he’s been dedicated to the craft ever since. He further discussed his role in Sibongile & The Dlaminis, noting that while he and his character Jabu share a determination to achieve their goals, their approaches are different.

His acting portfolio includes roles in The Queen, 1Magic’s comedy-drama Grown Woman, the BET telenovela Isono, and MTV Shuga: Down South as reported by TVSA.

According to IOL, Muvhango returned with Season 27 in response to viewer requests. The new season will feature fresh faces, including the legendary Leleti Khumalo as Dr. Nonhlanhla Ximba, a former medical doctor turned businesswoman. After resolving contractual disputes, SABC and Word of Mouth have confirmed the returning drama fans have been eagerly anticipating.

The executive producer Duma Ndlovu revamped Muvhango by adding new characters and bringing back old ones, all while keeping the show’s original storyline.

In addition to the cast, Muvhango reintroduced familiar faces again such as Lebo Tisane and Wiseman Zitha.
