Celebrity chef Lorna Maseko received quite a bit of flak from social media users after she posted a dish she created using cabbage as the main ingredient.

Adding onions, eggs and an array of sauces and spices to the mix, the award-winning chef shared on social media that the dish was something from her head.

She added in her post’s caption, “Try something new and give it your all — just keep pushing, even when it feels like the odds are against you.”

For some, the dish looked like quite a hit.

this is such a beautiful way of showing the creative process chefs go through before they find the perfect match we get to eat.

Others defended the meal.

Its fine dining food art,it’s not your conventional dishes ,same way people explore with fashions and designs some explore with food

People being upset at food will always perplex me.

On the other hand, despite the words of encouragement in the video, many social media users could not help but question Lorna’s creation.

Seeing the criticism she received, Lorna took to her Instagram Stories, saying:

“Never in a million years did I think I’d ever be bullied over cabbage, or even a recipe I’ve created. The food I create is the food I like to eat! It may not be to your liking and that’s okay! Just because you grew up eating cabbage a certain way doesn’t mean we all have to eat it that way. So, please let people create and how they want to create. If you don’t like it, it’s simple – unfollow or keep it moving! Maybe this page is not for you!”
