Depressed and feeling unloved, actress Londeka Sishi wanted to end it all until the birth of her baby. The Adulting actress opened up to ZiMoja about how she wanted to commit suicide due to her life feeling aimless and hopeless.

Before the actress was approached by Showmax, Londeka felt like giving up as she wasn’t getting any opportunities. At the time, the only thing keeping her going was her pregnancy. “I remember that falling pregnant is the only thing that stopped me from killing myself. Before my daughter Liyana, who is now five years old, my life was not worth living,” she says.

Apart from overcoming suicide ideation, the actress has also learnt to not take on other people’s burdens and make them her own. She states, “I have also learned not to take things personally and get worked out by small things.”

No longer trying to rush through life, Londeka turns to prayer and meditation for healing purposes when she feels overwhelmed by things. She claims that she is now more positive and optimistic when it comes to life.

Londeka exudes excitement as she discusses working with The River actor Thembinkosi Mthembu, who portrays Bonga in the drama series Adulting. She playfully admits to having had a crush on the actor who portrays her love interest in the show. She no longer has a crush on him, and is grateful for him continuously teaching her more about the industry. With her newfound fame, the actress admits to getting a lot of attention from men on social media but often brushes them off.

Adulting is now available on Showmax.
