Lira suffered a stroke in early 2022, when she was in Germany before she was set to perform.
The award-winning singer later confirmed in August 2022, according to IOL news, that she was diagnosed with Aphasia, a language disorder caused by damage in a specific area of the brain that controls language expression and comprehension.
“This is my last day as a 43-year-old. I’m reflecting on the amount of fun I had in the last year ☺️. I spent it with loved ones, my family, and my friends. There were no shows – I couldn’t work – so I was left with living life – happily. Thank you to all of you who prayed for me and kept me in your thoughts – I’m truly blessed – I love you all,” she captioned a video.
