Musician, actor, and dancer Lindo ‘Lindough’ Sithole is beaming with pride as he has been able to fulfil his late grandmother’s dream of building a family home.
The Sithole family is not only celebrating a newly renovated home, but also another of Lindough’s remarkable achievements of bringing a new bride home. Lindough is renowned for his acting role on Nkalakatha: The Life of Mandoza and the chart-topper he produced with the legendary Freddy Gwala, Ok’salayo.
He recently took to his Instagram page, sharing pictures of his homestead before the family home was renovated, where there was only one house, and pictures of the family home now, where he turned the basic house into a modern house with a veranda, and he added two more houses.
Lindough shared that he decided to change a narrative by building a family home, even though it’s been over 20 years since they moved from it, was that this is where he grew up, raised with love by his late grandmother, Roselina. He revealed that this has always been her dream and she would always say: “uNdo uzo ngakhela umuzi one day (Ndo will build me a house one day).” And those words stuck with him forever, propelling him to work hard so he can realise her dream even if she is no more.
He proudly captioned: “The story has changed, manje (now) we have a home esihlangana khona as umndeni, uma kuyi phasika, ukhusimusi noma umsebenzi (where we can meet as a family for Easter holidays, Christmas and traditional ceremonies).” He shared his heartfelt gratitude to God for his talent, being able to work hard, and wisdom.
