Let’s talk new Showmax series Youngins

Streaming platform Showmax has come out with various new series options with Youngins becoming very topical on social media as it brings a new vibe to storytelling.

The teen series is produced by award-winning production company Tshedza Pictures alongside producer Phathutshedzo Makwarela, who is known to be behind productions such as The River; Legacy; The Republic and Gomora and Gqerbha: The Empire to name a few.

The young cast members include a few similar faces on your screens and new faces which are Ayakha Ntunja, Kealeboga Masango, Toka Mtabane, Thabiso Ramotshela and newcomer Lebohang Lephatsoana.

Youngins is a vibrant show that showcases the lives of these learners in a boarding school where they navigate young adulthood without their parents’ supervision and create fun memorable experiences while in high school.

The motto is really ‘YOLO’ (you only live once) for these teenagers as they go out partying and find themselves in sexually fluid environments. It is a representation of what high school life is like for some people.

The show is definitely worth the watch but some users feel that they cannot relate to the content produced on the show and the answer is yes, as the concept of the show is meant for the younger generation hence the name Youngins.

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela posted on X (formerly Twitter) snippets of the show.
