Dr. Kaizer’s legacy is one that is enshrined in the DNA of South African football. After making his appearance for Orlando Pirates at under 16 level, his footballing journey went from strength to strength.

His talents took him all the way to North America where he applied his skill in making his appearance for the American side the Atlanta Chiefs where he achieved instant success on the field.

Upon his return home, he created his own football club named after himself and his former US team and named it Kaizer Chiefs.

Furthermore, Dr. Kaizer also co-founded the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and played an important part in getting South Africa to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Johnny Burger, the Chairperson of the South African Hall of Fame praised Dr. Kaizer for his contributions to the country saying: “As a visionary founder and chairman of the renowned Kaizer Chiefs Football Club, his influence reaches far beyond the field.

“With this induction, his extraordinary contributions will be permanently enshrined in the annals of the South African Hall of Fame.”
