Following public outcry regarding President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision-making and governance, controversial figure Lebo Keswa is among the citizens who have rallied behind the call for a national shutdown.

South Africa’s political pot appears just about ready to boil over as the past couple of months have been riddled with drama and chaos in the republic. It appears citizens are growing more and more frustrated as they take to social media to voice out any grievances and complaints they might have regarding the state of the country.

One of the many issues that have been brought up is that of immigration, whether legal or not, and how it has affected the lives of everyday South Africans, with the controversial case of former Miss SA contestant Chidimma Adetshina being a constant example.

Among many other citizens, controversial entrepreneur and podcaster Lebo Keswa has rallied behind the countless calls for a national shutdown, following President Cyril’s announcement of plans to improve relations with Nigeria through trade and ease of travel for Nigerian tourists into South Africa.

I want to do a video saying; Ramaphosa must gooooo?????? Ramaphosa must gooooo??????Ramaphosa must gooooooo??????. Does he even understand the pain and hurt of go jelwa ke le Nigerian??????#NationalShutDown #Resign#UnionBuildings#NigeriaInSA #Nigerians pic.twitter.com/EqnD4eyMui

Lebo went to the extent of claiming that she would make a video saying “Ramaphosa must go”, which is a nod to the viral ‘Zuma must go’ video that went viral during former president Jacob Zuma’s controversial administration.

With the current state of the country, it will be interesting to see how the president alongside the ANC will handle this situation, as a lot of their decision-making is likely to determine their fate as Mzansi eagerly looks on to the 2028 elections.
