While most of Mzansi celebrated Heritage Day on the 24th of this month, designer and MaXhosa luxury clothing brand owner Laduma Ngxokolo celebrated something bigger than that. Laduma welcomed his first child, a daughter named Qamata.

The successful designer who hails from Gqeberha has had his garments donned by cast members for the international movie Coming to America 2 including international superstar Eddie Murphy and Nomzamo Mbatha. Veteran actor John Kani has also paraded the talented designer’s garments at the premiere of the movie Black Panther, and international basketball player Dwyane Wayde among many.

Locally, the brand is loved by many, with regular clients such as Unathi Nkayi mistaken as an ambassador.

Taking to his social media to share the news of the birth of his daughter, Laduma wrote:

“Became uTata ka Qamata ??? on 24/09/2023, soo excited about this new journey of being a father to our precious little girl. Shout out to uMama ka Qamata for carrying our bundle of joy for so long ??❤️. Lastly, shout out to all the medical professionals who insured the journey was a success and fun one. Many thanks Dr Sihlabele, Dr Silver, Dr Ubomba ?.”
