The talented ‘The Wife‘ star and DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Favourite Rising Star winner Kwenzo Ngcobo is the newest member of the Etv soapie ‘Scandal!’.

Kwenzo joins the cast after the announcement of the departures of Matthews Rantsoma who plays Nhlamulo and Melusi Mbele who played Jojo. Although his character’s name has not been confirmed yet, fans of the show have taken to the comments section to express their excitement and anticipation.

“CASTING ANNOUNCEMENT Kwenzo Ngcobo has joined the cast of #etvScandal. The talented actor who has appeared on several tv shows including #TheWifeShowmax is set to make his debut in Aug on the show,” captions entertainment commentator Mlu.

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela also confirmed through an X (formally Twitter) post that the soapie would now be expanding its episode offering and would be airing from Monday through to Sunday. However, the reception to this news on socials was split in different directions as some supporters are excited while some are unsure about how this decision will play out.

Some commenters were more concerned about whether the cast and team would be compensated accordingly for the extra working hours.

“How is this a good idea?” says one user.

Ngcobo is evidently a busy man as he recently secured the role of Alex Shabane in Netflix’s Soon Comes Night and Zipho in Mzansi Magic telenovela Champions.
