Mzansi rallied behind our soccer boys Bafana Bafana last night as they played for a spot in the final losing to Nigeria’s national team also known as Super Eagles.

The match took place in Ivory Coast last night ending in a 1-1 score. It was during the penalty shootouts that many mzansi soccer lover’s dreams of going through to the AFCON finals were shattered in 4-2 final score.

Even though Bafana Bafana did not qualify for the finals, many internet users acknowledge how well they played.

They are now to face DR Congo for a bronze medal on Saturday, 10 Feb, a day ahead the final between host city and Nigeria.

Proud of our boys sharing his need to grieve our loss, best-selling author Khaya Dlanga jokingly took to his social media platform, previously known as Twitter, to ask for the president for a national day to mourn losing to Nigeria.

He shared:

“Mr. president, how about a national day of mourning?”

Mr president, how about a national day of mourning?
