Fans of Amapiano artist Thato Kevin Ledwaba, popularly known as Kelvin Momo, were left in disbelief after he missed three shows without an explanation.
The Myekeleni hit maker recently revealed the reasons behind him missing gigs at Cafe 69, Piano Hub and Makubenjalo. Not so long ago, Kelvin was exposed for missing an Australian gig, which may threaten his livelihood, as he may face liquidation to repay the costs.
Taking to his Instagram page, Kelvin shared a statement where he cited health issues as reason behind missing gigs.
“To our valued fans and patrons, we want to extend our sincerest apologies for missing our scheduled performances at Cafe 69, Piano Hub, and Makubenjalo. Due to unforeseen health issues, our artist, Kelvin Momo, fell ill, forcing us to cancel these highly anticipated gigs.
“We understand the excitement and anticipation surrounding these events and are deeply sorry for any disappointment this may have caused. The well-being of our team is paramount, and we had no choice but to prioritise Kelvin’s health and recovery,” read the statement.

Ace Events also sought the liquidation of Kelvin Momo Productions after a missed gig. The claim filed in court alleges that Kelvin’s company owes up to R2.8 million in refunds and damages due to his failure to perform at two scheduled shows in Australia last year.
IOL reported that Ace Events director, Million Mwenge Butshiire, said, Kelvin and his team received a 50% deposit for the performances but failed to show up.
The publication added that the agreement between the artist and Ace Events specified that he was scheduled to perform for 60 minutes at Melbourne on November 2, 2024, and then again at Perth on November 3, for 60 minutes. And the agreement stipulated that if the Amalobolo hitmaker missed the performance, they would reschedule within three months of the postponement or cancellation. Failure to perform and reschedule would require an immediate refund to the promoter.
