Songbird Kelly Khumalo and kwaito legend Arthur Mafokate have set the internet ablaze with some cosy snaps.
Could it have been a PR stunt? Fans think so, especially after announcing they collaborated on a new track “Ngeke,” released on Sunday.
Following the song’s debut, Khumalo celebrated the milestone on Instagram and revealed the track was recorded in 2019. Hours after appearing on YouTube, it already gained more than 70K views.

The alleged couple performed the song at a private event, with Mafokate saying that they released the track on a Sunday “unannounced.”
He thanked their fans for their support in a social media post alongside a video clip of their performance. “When God is in charge, nothing can stop what people demand!
“We released both the song and video unannounced on a Sunday, performed it for the first time on a Sunday and as they say, the rest is History.”

Valentine’s Day Vibes
On Valentine’s Day, Khumalo posted a picture on Instagram of her gazing deeply into Mafokate’s eyes, captioned “Isazozalwa letsotsi ezozhlukanisa,” which translates to “The thing that will separate us is yet to be born.”
Mafokate didn’t hold back either; he shared a photo of them embracing, adding two heart emojis.
Naturally, fans went into detective mode, trying to decipher if this was a romantic revelation or a teaser for an upcoming project.
Fans Speculate: Romance or PR Stunt?
The online community is divided. Some believe that Khumalo and Mafokate are the new power couple, while others think it’s all a clever marketing strategy for a music video.
This wouldn’t be the first time Kelly has blurred the lines between her personal and professional life. Back in 2018, she and rapper Chad da Don had us all fooled with their “romance,” which turned out to be a promotional move for her music video, “Dance Comigo.”
