2023 was a beautiful year for music lovers as many new songs were released which meant we continued to add new songs to our playlists. Artists worked hard and closed off the year on a high note with their songs receiving the love they had anticipated.

This includes amapiano’s most prominent DJ and producer Kabza De Small (born as Kabelo Motha) and Mthunzi for their masterpiece collaboration Imithando which featured on their EP, Isimo which was released last year October. The song has a star-studded lineup with Young Stunna, DJ Maphorisa, Sizwe Alakine and Umthakathi Kush, the song received 10 million streams on Spotify alone.

Imithandazo is maintaining its dominance as it holds number 1 on Apple Music charts with an overall stream of 16.4 million since its release. It is without a doubt that the infectious beats and powerful lyrics have taken the streets by storm making the song a national hit and a social media sensation.

In December, a music video accompanying the song was released which is now sitting on 7 million views. The music video has a spiritual theme which aligns more to the song’s powerful and relatable lyrics.
