Could Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) leader Julius Malema be unravelling in front of the public after the former deputy president of his party, Floyd Shivambu announced his resignation to join uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK)?
As many internet users are stunned by Floyd’s decision to join former president Jacob Zuma’s MK party, CIC Julius Malema seems to not be backing down without a fight.
As per reports by news publication, IOL, the recent resignation of the former EFF member has opened speculations on the truth behind his major decision, as Floyd built EFF alongside its leader from the ground up.
A sad announcement for all EFF members as Floyd read his resignation letter to the party at the Orlando Community Hall where he stated that he would be the shift.
News publication, BusinessDay, reports that the political party’s secretary-general, Marshall Dlamini, would be the new chief whip in parliament, adding that, Floyd’s replacement for the Deputy president of the party would be announced in December.
Julius says, “All powers that belong to the deputy president will go into the office of the president and everything else that looks like the former deputy president will be dismantled in the EFF and gotten rid of with immediate effect.”
In a recent speech addressing Floyd’s departure, Julius said, “Floyd Shivambu shall be replaced by Sinawo Thambo in Parliament as a Member of Parliament in the Republic of South Africa. Comrades, Jimmy Manyi shall be replaced by Nazier Paulsen, our commissar and trusted confidant in the Western Cape province. We are fighting now, we are not playing. You invite us into a fight, we accept it, where there is a fight you will find us. We will never retreat in defence of this movement.”
IOL also reported that the EFF leader addressed members who had shown disloyalty to the party as Floyd was not the only one to have made that to the MK party.
