Hip-hop group Jozi has been planning a comeback into the music industry for the upcoming Made in Mzansi Festival, before Da L.E.S’s sudden hospitalisation.

Rapper Da L.E.S whose real name is Lesley Mampe, was recently hospitalised just before his annual ‘All White’ birthday party. This is after he suffered from a stroke, causing all engagements he had planned to be postponed.

Whilst the rapper recovers, ZiMoja reports that Da L.E.S was planning to perform at the festival after 10 years of being apart from his group members Ishmael and Bongani Fassie, as Crazy Lu died in 2019 in Cambodia, after suffering an asthma attack.

According to Howler, the event from 28th-29th September at Freedom Park, Pretoria is set to celebrate talent throughout the country with music performances to captivate and change the music industry.

Speaking to ZiMoja, a close friend shared that, Da L.E.S was still recovering, meaning that he would not be at the festival. Although one member is missing from the group, Ismael stated that he would be performing at the upcoming festival.

“I look forward to being part of the festival, Yes, we had been in talks as Jozi, and we have never stopped being brothers; we just needed to mend a few broken issues in the relationship. We pray that Leslie gains his strength and recovers.”

The above-mentioned hub adds that rapper and producer Bongani said, “I will never stop. At this stage, I don’t want to talk about the group or Leslie’s condition. Those close to us know.”
