During the nine years that he has been with the multi-award-winning group, he is said to have made a lasting impact.

“As a tenor singer, Eric brought joy to many through his electric performances and unique songs. A snazzy dresser of note, his stage presence was unmatched.

“His untimely passing will leave a deep void in the joyous family. His legacy lived on through his music which touched the hearts of many and made a significant contribution to the gospel music genre,” continued the statement.

Meanwhile, one of the groups founding members, Jabu Hlongwane, is still speechless.

“This is not a good feel, and we are shocked,” he told news publication The Citizen.

According to Jabu, Eric was part of a group of singers in a choir at a church in Qheberha when he suddenly felt dizzy and was admitted to hospital on Friday.

The group encouraged their fans to celebrate his extraordinary life and reflect in the things he did that impacted many people around him.

While the passing may come as a surprise, the group expressed their condolences to the family and promised to provide updates regarding the memorial and funeral arrangements.
