The South African duo (Leonard Malatji and Mano Nephawe) popularly known as Mapara a Jazz, that once made the whole of Mzansi dance to their chart-topper, John Vuligate, have returned home safely after an unfortunate incident in Ethiopia.

The beloved duo have been documenting and sharing their journey and time in Ethiopia, until they shared a frightening post where they revealed their location pin and that they have allegedly been kidnapped.

Recently, the pair shared a picture of themselves and the body guards at OR Tambo, with a relieving message that they have made it safely out Ethiopia.

“We’re finally home! We’re grateful to say that we are safely back home. We want to sincerely thank everyone who showed us love, concern, and support during this difficult time — from both Ethiopia  and South Africa. A very special thanks to Black Diamond VIP Protection for their incredible effort, professionalism, and care throughout this entire journey.”

The pair initially announced that they will be performing in Ethiopia. Later that day, they posted from Bole in Addis Ababa, joking: “Guys, we are in Ethiopia. Please pray for us so that we may not see someone without a chin.”

Their trip took a turn when they posted that they had been kidnapped and urgently needed help. One member even shared a photo of his injured face. The details surrounding the kidnapping, including the circumstances that led to the injury, have not been made public.

“We are kidnapped in Ethiopia.” read their alarming post.
