Mere days after taking to social media to reveal that her contract with Vuma FM had been abruptly terminated, March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese has threatened to take legal action against the ANC for defaming her name and reputation.

This comes after the political party issued a statement welcoming Vuma FM’s pronouncement of her contract, where they clarified that their decision to not renew her contract was not influenced by external parties.

According to the ANC, this clarification put to bed the rumours regarding the involvement of KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Health Nomagugu Simelane, who, according to Sunday World, threatened to pull Vuma FM’s government funding if they failed to follow through with terminating Jacinta’s contract.

In response to the statement, the radio personality issued a statement of her own where she revealed that in a quest to vindicate her rights, she would be instructing her legal team to swiftly take the necessary legal action against the organisation. She expressed that their statement is not only misleading but also plays a role in eroding the good name and reputation she has worked hard to build.

Some members of the public believe that the abrupt termination of Jacinta’s contract is no isolated incident. Rather, they are of the view  that her recent emergence as a front-running anti-illegal immigration activist played a role. She has since garnered immense support from the public, who have revealed their solidarity with her during this tumultuous time.

Rightfully so! The ANC in KZN picked the wrong one to smear. When you fight for the people, they’ll come for your name first. We stand with Jacinta.

Ma Ngobese, your bravery and passion are what I most admire about you.
