“I’ve never dated a white guy in my life” says Thando Thabethe

Thando Thabethe and her radio co-host members seem to know just what their audience like. The actress, businesswoman and Primedia’s 947 Drive with Thando host, shared a clip of a race related topic that was aimed at understanding the black and white race better.

Speaking with co-hosts Matt and Lerato on her 3-7pm drive slot, Thando shared;

“Can I tell you; I’ve never dated a white guy in my life”, co-host Matt asked if there was a reason why she was announcing that to which Thando replied.

“…Have you seen my natural hair?” she went on to add that one of the reasons for not dating other races is that she wouldn’t know what to do as she often wears wigs;

“When I’m dating a white man, do I take it off before …” adding that black men know what it a wig is.

The show’s confused co-host asked if people sleep with their wigs on, to which Thando responded that she usually doesn’t, but when it’s glued every now and then would keep it for one night.

A very fascinated Matt who is of a different race added that the thought of someone looking a certain way and later changing when it’s bedtime would be “surprising”.

The conversation moved to things black girls don’t understand about white people and Matt asked if it was true that “white people smell of milk.”

Thando responded “There is definitely a distinctive smell, I don’t know if its milk” adding that, co-host Lerato who has been with her white husband for 10 years probably has desensitized from it by now.

Lerato responded, “I am….” adding that “Initially my mom actually asked me, don’t you get a fright, don’t you think you’re sleeping next to a ghost at night, because of his skin colour.”

The conversation also included many other small differences between the two races including moisturizing the face, body and lips.
