As the universe celebrates mothers for their empathy, compassion, love, and guidance for their offspring, businesswoman Rachel Kolisi revealed that it is her first Mother’s Day as a single mom.

Rachel and her ex-husband, Siya Kolisi, recently shocked mzansi with the announcement of their divorce. The couple had two children of their own and had adopted Siya’s two siblings, Liphelo and Liyema.

Recently, Rachel took to her Instagram page to share how she navigated her first Mother’s Day as a divorced mom. In the heart-warming clip she shared, the doting mother is having fun and getting creative with her youngest daughter, Keziah.

Rachel shared on her page that they will be celebrating Mother’s Day a little differently, as they will try to be creative this time. There may have been small doubt about her creativity, following her botched handmade Christmas tree. This time, she and Keziah made creative notes and drawings on glass water bottles for each other. The duo reckoned that they made beautiful memories while making the meaningful art, and Rachel revealed that it’s not just about the gifts but their bond and the time they spent together.

In the clip, Rachel said: “Being a mother has always been one of the most beautiful and most incredible, rewarding, and most challenging things I have ever done. And I have always looked at my kids as kind of the North Star.”
