Is delulu the solulu? Married at First Sight’s Nelisa shocks viewers, sticks by Themba

When it comes to drama, this season of Married at First Sight Mzansi is yet to disappoint. On the latest episode, Nelisa has shocked viewers after sticking by her man despite overwhelming evidence of him omitting some important information from her.

“South Africa is a movie” is a phrase that has become normal to hear on a daily basis, and that can be attributed to the bizarre real-life stories people share on social media. From tagging the president with the nickname ‘Cupcake’ to daily taxi chronicles,  South Africa has garnered a reputation as one of the most unserious nations in the world.

It then comes as no surprise that this reputation has spilled over into Mzansi’s reality television industry, which has not only captivated local viewers, but has also become somewhat popular in various parts of the world due to social media. Lately, viewers have been tuned in to the second season of Married at First Sight (MAFS), a reality show about exactly what it sounds like.

Like plenty of other local reality shows, MAFS has not disappointed when it comes to delivering provocative television that gets the people talking. There have been a number of interesting storylines that have given us a few contenders for the villain of the season, including Tshepo and Palesa’s complex relationship, and Makoto’s random outbursts at Nkululeko. While managing to keep out of the spotlight for a while, Themba’s reality finally caught up with him when the mother of his children approached production to raise concerns regarding him misleading her.

The woman who identified herself as Sponono Radebe revealed that despite going through a rough patch, she and Themba were still romantically involved when shooting for MAFS started. When asked whether she knew whether he would be on MAFS, Sponono revealed that Themba explained it was an acting gig meant to propel his DJing career and brought receipts to back her claims.

Despite Sponono’s heed, which came with evidence, Nelisa made the decision to stick by her new husband and has made it clear that she trusts everything he has told him. Viewers are less than impressed by Nelisa’s decision, and have labelled her as delusional for choosing to ignore the red flags. According to these viewers, it will only be a matter of time before she too becomes a victim to a similar situation.

Sponono even knew Nelisa’s age, but Nelisa still chose to believe Themba’s lies. Yoh Nelisa’s reaction was so disappointing.#MarriedAtFirstSightMzansi pic.twitter.com/4HlZ35l3OR

But if a person can be so deceitful and an outright liar as Themba (given evidence Sponono gave)

What is making Nelisa think the same could not happen to her ?#MarriedAtFirstSightMzansi
