Mzansi was recently left stunned upon discovering a video of Miss Universe’s first runner-up, Chidimma Adetshina making rounds on the social media platforms.

In the clip shared, Chidimma can be seen dining with friends at Life Grand Cafe in Waterfront, Cape Town. Mzansi raised their concerns about South African Home Affairs and wondered how she was able to travel back to the country after she was stripped of her South African identity and her travel documents were seized.

The citizenship controversy was first sparked by Chidimma’s Miss South Africa beauty pageant entry. This comes after the origins of her name raised questions that turned into a heated debate among internet users.

Amid that heated argument, Home Affairs investigated and found that her mother who is a Mozambican national stole someone’s identity while she was applying for a South African ID in 1995, which she used to apply for Chidimma’s South African identity book.

Upon those findings, Home Affairs announced that Chidimma’s mother has been barred from entering South Africa, Chidimma’s identity will be stripped and travel books will be confiscated for investigations.

Recently, an X (formerly Twitter) user took to their X page to share a clip of Chidimma back in South Africa. This clip went viral, and had X users share their opinions and concerns.
